Dr. Alice Rizzi's Office

Hi There,

Welcome to my office!

If you’re feeling:

  • Tearful

  • Angry

  • Misunderstood

  • Lonely

  • Anxious

  • Frustrated

  • Irritable

  • Overwhelmed

  • And just wishing you could have some relief…

I want you to know three things:

  1. You are not alone.

  2. There’s nothing wrong with you.

  3. Nobody else has it all “figured out” either (regardless of what they may show you on Instagram!)

I also want you to know that you can, absolutely, live the kind of life that matters to you with less stress, more calm, and more space to find joy

I’ve seen people make some pretty amazing changes over the course of our work together. The kind of changes that can help you feel happy, free, loved, and valued in a way that might be hard for you to imagine right now.

Sometimes, you can even make changes you didn’t know you wanted (think: quitting smoking, breaking up or getting married, and moving to another city). Don’t worry! You don’t have to make life altering decisions. In fact, you don’t have to do anything. My goal is to help you figure out what you do want, and then help you make that happen.

About Me

I am most passionate about working with adults who take their wellbeing seriously and are willing to invest time, energy, and yes, money, into their health, mindset, and personal growth. You know that in order to take full advantage of what life has to offer, you need to take the reigns. We will work together to figure out what specific changes you need to make in order to create the kind of purposeful life you know you want to have.

Even if your own confidence ebbs and flows, I believe you are capable of getting most things in life you set your mind to. I would be honored to support you in your journey to believing you can have them. It’s not about deserving what you want. It’s about learning to accept it when it arrives. This isn’t meant to say you can sit on your hands and do nothing. There’s definitely work involved in acceptance, largely having to do with looking for opportunities and creating an action plan to secure them. This is where the support of a trained professional comes in.

I believe in choosing to live a meaningful life by acting on goals that are in line with your values.

If you are ready to start now, schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me.

What To Expect

I take into consideration your current stressors, life stage and transitions, cultural background, family dynamics, and unique characteristics when planning our work together. I work collaboratively with you to ensure you’re getting value, experiencing measurable progress, and can troubleshoot any problems.

My training is in evidence-based treatment interventions. This means research has shown that the skills I share with you have helped a lot of other people. However, it is up to you to put in the work that comes with achieving your goals - personally, professionally, and in session. I provide the support, tools, and accountability necessary to do this. You have to decide whether you’re ready for it.

I am constantly working on my own “stuff,” so I can better serve my clients. I practice mindfulness personally and professionally because that’s what I’ve found brings meaning to my life. I want to help you identify your values so that you know what makes life worth it for you.

For the record, I am a BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ friendly therapist and hate that in this day and age this is still something that needs to be made explicit. I do not practice psychology from any religious standpoint and am happy to welcome individuals from all walks of life, career choices, and preferences that may seem odd or unexpected to others. As weird or different as you think you are or have been told by others, there’s very little that can shock me. I encourage you to come as you are.

Here’s The Deal: I understand how uncomfortable it feels to be vulnerable with someone you literally just met. So here are a few personal things about me, so we can start getting to know each other before we even meet:

  • I speak Russian fluently, but don’t read, write, or conduct therapy in it

  • I’ve been living in New York City for 20+ years, but I’m also an immigrant (I came here when I was 10, and all I can say is 5th graders are MEAN!)

  • My husband taught me how to make coffee 5+ different ways, to love beer, and that I can be a dog-person just as much as a cat person

  • This is Spike, our “supermutt” rescue:
